PS3 is the only console in history to have survived the longest from the evil wrath of Hackers. It seems that PS3 may have finally been compromised to load games from HDD. A group called Slump (Slump website found here http://group-slump.blogspot.com/2008/03/news.html) has revealed that they have developed a PS3 ISO Loader. Gaming forums around the globe have been calling this as a Hoax or Fake, something that is common for every new announcement regarding PS3.
April 1 is a few weeks away and [Slump] promises to release the Loader on 17th March. So either they have something that could actually work or their idea of 1st April joke fails miserably as they even managed to get the date wrong. Here is what they have revealed so far about the PS3 ISO Loader:
Requirements:
PS3 system (20GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB)
Firmware 2.10 (not above!)
External USB HDD (~120GB+ - bigger is better)
1 Original PS3 Game (to boot the .iso)
~500 MB on your internal HDD
USB keyboard to navigate in the i.load menue
Game image
LAN connection to the PS3 for transfers
i.load all incl. package (download available soon)
This works:
Booting PS1,PS2 & PS3 backups
Savegames of all titles
Support any game sizes
This wont work:
PS3 40GB cant play PS2 images
Online play
PSN games for free *
